Alex Bouvier

Composer & Digital Artist

Alex Bouvier is a composer and digital artist. His work seeks the tipping point where sound, light and image are no longer in service of the show but become its living material. Trained in composition at the Aubervilliers-la Courneuve Conservatory alongside Jonathan Pontier and then at the Paris Conservatory, he entered the world of live performance early on alongside the company Shonen. Collaborations followed with Alessandro Sciarroni, Jann Gallois, Kitsou Dubois, River Lin, and Mélanie Perrier. He also creates sonic and visual environments for immersive installations with Visual System and Sébastien Lefèvre, from the Palais de Tokyo to La Gaîté Lyrique, from Théâtre Chaillot to the Wonderfruit festival in Thailand.

His technical background informs everything else. Since 2017, he has worked as a computer vision and machine learning engineer at CIM Atlantique, designing quality control and automated inspection systems for the food and manufacturing industries. Real-time defect detection, object classification on production lines, hyperspectral image processing: work at the intersection of optics, algorithms, and real-world constraints. Physical sound modeling, real-time image generation, the dialogue between a body and an algorithm: it is in this in-between space that his artistic work takes shape.

Yadre

yadre.org

YADRE was co-founded in 2021 in Paris by choreographer and dancer Shihya Peng and composer and digital artist Alex Bouvier. YADRE explores the space between heritage and invention: a dance where the traditional blends with the contemporary, where sounds and digital images extend the movement.

In 2021, they created RainDrops for the University of Taipei (Taiwan). In 2025, they created Will You Believe In Me? in Taiwan, then presented their first solo, Never Enough, in November 2025 at Théâtre de l'Onde. They are associate artists at L'Onde Théâtre, Centre d'Art since 2025.
